Dog Amnesties offer the opportunity to sign over your pet without fear of prosecution.
But what of your dog?
If deemed ‘of type’ and signed over, your dog will die.
* You are under no legal obligation to hand dogs over under the Amnesty.
* By handing your dog over in the Amnesty, you lose your right to fight through the courts to save your dog’s life by proving that he or she poses no threat to the public.
* You retain this right if your dog is seized, and you do not sign it over to be destroyed.
* You are under no legal obligation to sign seized dogs over to be destroyed, though you may risk arrest or prosecution.
